Description

Testing the new camera and lens Done with Pentax K20D and DA* 300mm last night DEC 10th 2008, some postwork sharpening and contrast Used a tripod and 10sec shutter delay to allow tripod vibes to stop. Took about 30 shots with various settings to get one this crisp. Always wanted some decent photo equipment to try a shot like this. Very happy with the results. This is a 100% crop from the image

Tis a most beautiful shot of the moon. Wish to goodness I could get a shot like that. Won't ever happen without a longer lens. Fantastic image!

Super shot! I've a Meade 2000 MM 8" SC and one of these days I'll get a CCD device for it. I have a shot of the latest eclipse on my site using my Olympus C-8080 with digital zoom.

Your not far wrong with your title, it is fantastic! It's one of those shots where I want to say I wish I had taken it!

You should be very happy with the result - this is a stellar image!!! I wanted to shoot the moon last night and just when it was almost high enough so I wouldn't get tree branches in the way, some clouds blew over... Dang!!!

Excellent indeed. I just posted a shot taken this morning from my driveway...moon already waning. I missed full moon thanks to clouds. You and I were both using a 300mm lens...just different cameras. Well done. Bill

I have a 500mm lens and my tripod is okay for long distance but for moon shots the tripod just will not hold the lens on the moon. just as I get it lined up it sags a tiny bit and enough to cause the moon to be out of the range outstanding capture
