Description
The top half is the Karesansui Late Rock Garden and it is a replica from the Muromachi Period of the 15th century Japan. Karesansui means “dry landscape”. A completely abstract garden space, enclosed by walls, composed principally of rock arrangements and coarse gravel for use in Zen Buddhist meditation. Surrounded by tall trees, it is a very peaceful spot to sit and think, thus the free form bench as the bottom half. Harry has a thing for benches. Info from Morikami literature.

LOL, Andrea hates rocks, as I've learned from experience. Hey, thanks immensely for this beautiful dedication of some things I most admire, Dana. I have a similar shot of the one on top, but not as nicely manicured or in such a lovely environment, especially with that tiled wall. And, like Denise, who really put me in the bench mode, the bottom one is elegantly novel in construction and form. Thanks again, my friend.

Ooh, that is one artistic bench! Beautiful! And are those lines in the gravel just raked in, and easy to mess up by walking on? If so, that's a lot of work to make it so perfect and keep it that way! Beautiful stuff!
