That is wonderful work, Sheila. I love the fluff of her hair, your blending, and the eyes. Very impressive! Hugs, Suzanne

lord...some wonderful work has been done in charcoal, and one shouldn't be 'surprized' that it can be used so eloquently and with such subtle detail. But the fact is, all the study in the world both of technique and of great art, cannot erase the elation and gratitude that one has when they see an artist so attuned and subtle as to produce a portrait like this. The gradations you get, the subtleties, the shimmer, the suggestion of greens and even bluish tones, and the alternation between broad and fine strokes—these are the tools of a truly sensitive artist. And wherever you've come from, whatever your background and how long or deep, you show the sense of one who's done it a long time, has become so intimate with it that, for them, it is like breathing; and for all the labor you may have put into such pieces, you produced something as natural as rain, and made your viewer see it as if seeing drawing for the very first time and marveling that a human could 'do' this. It's beautiful, both as art and as a product of our humanness. A fav.
