I remember when this went up, and I thought: Now that's a Claude photo! No one else here would've produced that image. It was a particularly bad day, and this really lifted me up. The light is almost dissolving, but the detail of tiny strands and branches and leaves is still vivid and tactile. The big stump juts forward triumphantly. And the light greets it is triumphantly, too. And the shadows are wonderful contrasts. You did beautiful work on this, in and out of the camera. A glorious, intimate capture.
