Description

This is the King Vulture and one of the theories for how it got it's name is derived from Mayan legends, in which the bird was a king who served as a messenger between humans and the gods. Beautiful scene of ancient times! Vulture had a special status for several ancient cultures, including Egypt, where it was a mother goddess. Too bad that nowadays some people see him wrong.
