I wanted to do a special post because there are a lot of people that are really ill. I tried to think of how to do it and decided that we are all much like coworkers. So I made up this big get well card for all of us to sign. Leave a get well comment and your name will be added.
Laurie, webshadow, is home and resting from heart surgery and DOING GREAT! She is even on-line a little.
Karen, RNKarenER, has a cerebral lesion. She has resumed posting Ė check out her gallery!
Hal, Halcion, is suffering from very debilitating and excruciatingly painful neurological problems in his extremities and is under the very most potent medication.
We think of Renderosity as a place to post our art work and writing, but it is something much more than any art gallery. When Kate first IMíd me about Laurie, within thirty minutes that message had been passed around through other IMís until it was relayed to me six times. God only knows how many friends had read those words and immediately passed it on to their friends.
Renderosity is a community and we are all residents here. We ďvisitĒ each otherís galleries and it is like stepping into our friendís living room. We see what they have been up to and they in turn check on us. There are almost a million images posted here and almost five million active IM (I think Iíve written half of them.) We are interlocking circles of friends that wrap around and around the globe. My friend list has over 500 names in it and grows daily. I suspect that each of you is also linked to many, many friends.
And now, three of our dear friends are in trouble and just like a small town, we all spring to their aid. Iíve lost count of the dedications I have seen in the last twenty-four hours. It is an amazing outpouring of friendship and concern.
I ask that everyone keep Laurie, Karen, and Hal in your thoughts, hearts, and prayers as they all need all the help we can offer. Iím very proud to be their friend and I am very proud to be yours!!!!
I've just found out from Richard, yesitis3, that Lissa_lei in Australia, Ladyhawk in Canada, and Irene in California (or Germany?) are also very ill. Iíve been told that Irene has a lung problem and Lina (lissa lei) has a blood problem and gets transfusions on a regular basis and that Ladyhawk has a lung problem from black mold.
Please keep Fossy, (webmasterfossy) very close to your hearts and in your prayers as he is fighting a very difficult battle with cancer.
Please keep Rick's (Richabri) wife Bev similarly in your hearts and prayers as she too is battling with cancer.
Please add Koty (bonbonish), Evie (evielouise) and her friend Ofelia, Diane, (DIANE603), Lisa, (LadyLisa), Renate, (PANIC912), Dwayne (RETIRED), Shirley, (TheMadPainter), Pierre, (pjero), and Ranko, (animadeus) to your prayers.

This is very sweet of you Meredith :-) You have such a big heart :-) Karen was the first person I met here at Rosity and she made me feel very welcome. My first image was done with one of her characters. I don't think I did a very good job with that first image but she told me it was great :-) Just today I discovered webshadow's gallery. She quickly found her way to my favorites as another amazing artist I have found here. Both Karen and Laurie are in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks very much Meredith. I am so pleased to have someone like you as a freind :-)
Wow! This is an interactive 'Get Well Card' of sorts? What a tremendously creative idea and concept! I have signed a few of these in my time at work! You are right about the undying network of support here from this community, and it's a force to be reckoned with, especially when our friends really need a little bright light on their day! I know, I have been there. My sincere and deepest thoughts, prayers, and best wishes are for Laurie, Karen, and Hal from the bottom of my heart, and if there's anything I can do, let me know please! It's so enlightening how everyone here cares and actively goes out of their way to support those who are having difficult times, even more so than alot of people in my physical life. But hey, we are artists and we are special people! The tides of compassion rise again for a good cause, and our friends and fellow artists here mean everything to us! Excellent work on this, Meredith, and God Bless everyone and their support! Big Hugz
Oh, I love the idea and the way you've done this! It's very thoughtful and done in such a fun way. I'd like to add my best wishes both to those mentioned, and also to everyone else who is not feeling too great at the moment for whatever reason :) ______ali xxx
Agree with Lilybelles and the above ones ... Renderosity has the 'in memoriam' section, a virtual gravestone somehow, but it is much better to gain the sympathy and prayers of all those people dropping by in the galleries when there is a chance to get well and healthy again!
The secretaries where I worked circulated all the get well cards, the birthday cards and any updates from those who had left or been laid off. What you have here is something more where pain has shown how the spirit rises in art someimes directly and sometimes as with Olympic athletes when a parnet, loved one or coach dies. Celebrity manipulation of the coffers of charity to fund pet incurable diseases is also different. Artists can see where pain blocks the lesser gheist.
