Hello there; hope all are well these days!
Friday night, Howard the hedgehog came to live with us. He'd been in my mother-in-law's garden, but while she was dog-sitting, the dog found the hedgehog and was terrorizing him, so Dave went over there and rescued him. We thought he had a cut, which turned out to be a red elastic band he had gotten stuck around his "shoulders", so we cut that off. He's been nice and cozy in the cat carrier Sox usually uses, under some towels, and he has plenty of hedgehog food and he's rather partial to chicken!
We've gotten him a nice hutch, and he's a pretty happy little fellow! We took him to the vet this morning, as he had 3 nasty ticks on him (that's the gray thing on his ear), and he's only 440 grams, so he's quite a young fellow and will be staying in the hutch with us for a while until he's big enough to go out in the garden with his hedgehog house. We take him out so he can run around the conservatory (Dave is rebuilding it), and then he has a nice nap in his cosy hutch.
Sox and Lucia are pretty bemused by the whole thing.

He's a cutie, and is going to be nice and fat for the winter! Beware of fleas, though. Since they can't scratch, it seems they all have them.

He is sweet. I guess he has the right place found for the long winter time.

I hope he is not eating too much of your lunch! The meal looks soooo tasty! A cutie for sure, hope he will survive.

I noticed that tick right off. Nasty things. I didn't know hedgehogs got them but when you think about it, why wouldn't they? Wonderful shots and he looks quite happy.

Nice to meet Howard. He's a cute little guy. Glad you are posting, too. You've been away a long time or I'm not getting reminders of your postings from Rendo. Hope everything's been okay.
