Another important thing during the medieval period was keeping warm in winter. Here we have a woman selling furs from different animals. The fur was cut by pattern and sewn to form warm clothing. It was also used in bed to keep warm. Most of the fur in this photo was from sheep. And it was quite expensive, being somewhat rare. There are more pelts beyond the man in white jacket.
She also sold patterns with descriptions of how to make medieval dress from year 400 to year 1400, based on clothing in museums and opened graves. Some even from finds in peat bogs. It's amazing how clever people back then were, both in weaving, pattern making and solutions to sewing.
