Description
Drew this in the early 1980s when I was in my late teens. I was thinking mainly of 'The Magician' from the Tarot, an absolutely fascinating compendium of symbolic images, though I also drew some inspiration from some other sources. The sword, rod, chalice and pentacle at the mage's feet are supposed to symbolize fire, air, water and earth -- hence the title for this image.
Whaddya think? Not too bad, huh?
