I believe this is an Ankole-Watusi longhorn, There is a modern day American breed that is derived from the original African breed, so I'm not sure which this is. Taken at Wildlife Safari in Winston. Many of the animals there are very used to people & like this one will walk right up to cars in the road. The more potentially dangerous animals (lions, bears, etc.) roam in areas that don't allow them access to cars in the road...

there are two ranches here that has Texas Long Horns, but there is no place park legally . each time I passed them the cattle are right at the fence, but then again the fence is 50 feet or so from the street. I was going to park illegally but decided not to because of the speed people were driving
Imagine going down the hiway late at night when suddenly..."Longhorn" in the middle of the road. How I managed to brake and not hit that beast is beyond me to this day. I imagine It would have brought my truck to an immediate stop. Scary when these things break loose from the range.
