Description

The homes around Ossipee Lake ranged from 100 year old one story homes to beautiful modern two story homes. On a walk with my friend Brian, we spotted this log cabin being built. It looked strange among all of the other homes on this lakeside dirt road. Please zoom. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Beautiful. We have a lot of them in Northern Arizona, in the woods. Most of them have been built within the last 10 or 20 years. Friends of mine have one and they picked a model (there are different models to pick from) which vary in size and amenities. They are actually pretty expensive. Have a nice weekend Dana!

Oh, someone is going to have a beautiful log cabin! I have a friend who is building one and said that the electricity is a problem, as well, as when it is done, hanging anything on the wall. I never thought of that, LOL. Great capture of a work in progress!!! Hope all goes well for them!

The little boy in me is fascinated by this house! I used to have a wooden building kit when I was young that let the user build all styles of log cabins.

I have a space in the corner of my garden just right for a scaled down version of this.

This may be a "Deck Home", designed and manufactured at a factory (similar to the old "Lincoln Logs"), then shipped as components to an owner's location for final assembly. It's a post and beam construction, supposedly very energy efficient and quite popular in mountain areas, resembling log cabins of yesteryear. Channels have been designed into the construction for wiring and plumbing. Nice capture ! http://www.deckhouse.com/deck-house/

That is exactly what is going on here. The entire lane leading down to this site has both sides piled with all sizes of floor trusses and lots more logs. I hope to get back up there to get a finished photo.
