Description
An interesting note ... when you're standing there, the wall only looks washed in light. There's no pattern without the camera.
What does that say about art? Anything?

I do love these corner windows! That is so interesting about the pattern. We don't keep our eyes still for long enough to see it, maybe. Perhaps it is oscillating or pulsating or whatever..I ruminate on such light-matters when swimming my 36 lengths in the morning sun! lovely brain-emptying thoughts.

Lovely image, simple and elegant. Photography has the ability to distill moments and to reveal details of the world around us that our busy eyes sometimes miss. Probably when you were standing there the velvety pool of shadow beneath the window wasn't there, our eyes would have compensated for the changes in illumination. By getting just the right exposure you have revealed the details. Very Vermeer.

I've seen all kinds of windows on Rendo but this is one of the few glass block windows. The blocks obviously have unique interior designs to make them translucent...hence, the fascinating patterns on the wall. Mighty nice:*

I am rather stunned at how natural the exposure is on this! Usually a shot like this is either exposed properly for the inside, and the window is completely blown out, or the window is properly exposed and the room looks like the inside of a coal mine at night. Tell me you bracketed like mad - that's what I'd have had to do! LOL! To me, it says art is a wonderful, magical, challenging thing that never loses its fascination. It's always brand new. Seriously, this is killer! If you have a larger version of this, I'd looooooooove to try it as a BG for a render! Hint, hint... LOL!

The camera does see things differently, I know know why, but I do know I love this shot. It's classic YOU. Those glass blocks are one of my most favorite things; I've always wanted a wall of them--somewhere!!

I love what cameras do to light! I'm always amazed at what shifted camera settings bring out or obscure, and yeah...doing that with glass block is endlessly fascinating, though I haven't captured any images as striking as this! WOW! This is quite an elegant piece of work! What a window. I want one of those when I grow up! It's also got me to thinking about light. I'm willing to venture that the patterns are there and visible without the aid of a camera, but they're subtle and likely something the brain doesn't quite "record" even if the eyes do, simply because the subtleties are not vital to some survival thing...or maybe the light glass block window is made of glass blocks from some far away place (Agara?) where things are just a wee bit skewed from the norm? Maybe you only see the patterns without a camera on one particular day of the year? At any rate, WOW!
