Description

Friday Harbor Marina San Juan Island, Washington We spent a fun afternoon prowling the docks at the Friday Harbor marina. Both Bill and I grew up in beach towns, and feel most comfortable in this sort of environment. ............ I've condensed ten years worth of photos into ten albums on Flickr. I've got about 250 pics there now. Still working on the "group" thing. Andrea recommended a couple to me (thanks, Andrea!), but it's tough finding just the right group for certain things. There are a million groups for car photos, for example, but so far I haven't hit on just the right one.

You and Andrea have this thing in common. You are able to take a utilitarian object and turn it into a work of art.

some fine comments above...your vision comes to life, full view. The broad open surface, and the (I assume) side of the boat gives a wonderful visual contrast to the very busy mechanism on top. (A Lewmar Windlass? I haven't a clue what that is, I'll have to look it up!) But that winding mechanism on top is fine contrast with that sea of white and smooth metal/plastic that it rests on. And the chain adds more detail. Another fine abstract taken-from-reality from you. A very compelling shot.

Have always loved your care of detail. Bright chrome works great among neutral surfaces.
