The top leaves have the massing and clarity you get in your leaf shots; and since these are all the same type of leaf, the variations all occur in hue, shadow and light. Very active and rhythmic. And I like that you just capture them and let them speak for the whole shot. The fence gives the pic its 'frame'.
The variation all of a sudden plunges us into a melange of inner hues...it's almost an infrared land; and you've given a higher number of hues to the leaves than they had in the original: a total contrast; this image is inward, strange, mysterious and almost urban late night neon-like...a real contrast with the rust-slate hued beauties above it. A strong contrasted duo, with two beautiful pics in their own right.
