Description

La Jolla is an affluent neighborhood in San Diego, California. It is a hilly seaside community, occupying 7 miles of curving coastline along the Pacific Ocean within the northern city limits of San Diego. Excellent dining and views of the Pacific Ocean. This area has suffered from the pounding surf and erosion. Info from Wikipedia. Photo taken 35 to 40 years ago and scanned. It will zoom. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Great capture Dana. I expect that the little green building is no longer there. Very cool

I am guessing that it was either moved back or is in the Pacific Ocean!

A really neat shot of this seaside place, Dana. I wonder what it looks like now.. It's fun going back to those old photos, isn't it? Lots of memories to relive..

a former doctor client of mine had a beach house there and they kept their thoroughbred horses there also. their house here locally was huge and I replaced so much wood beams 2x12's. everyone was custom cut. not one was a standard size from the lumberyard. the wood work took me one week alone and I painted the entire exterior and parts of the interior. they had a big lake house in East Texas. I went once there to do a bid, but I told her it was too far to drive great capture

Our cliffs in Bournemouth are made of the same stuff, but the promenade acts as a defence. Very interesting insects nest in the cliff face! Careful planting has helped to stabilise the surface

Quit a few places in the UK are like this, looks like a few good storms will have seen the end of that hut.

Interesting, we have a sea wall built to save the promenade from the sea. xx

What fun to find and scan the old photos. I visited the beach at La jolla once when I was about 14. I still have found memories of that beautiful sunny day on the gorgeous beach.

Just north of La Jolla is Torrey Pines and below Torrey Piney is Black Beach. In the the 70s it was a nudist beach and we used to go there often. There were thousands of people there every weekend. But then in the 80s the City was trying to close the beach to nudists. it was difficult to get to. One had to climb the steep, unstable cliffs.
