Description

In Haarlem, the statue of Laurens Janszoon Coster and in the back, the bell tower of the Sint-Bavokerk… Koster could be the first European to invent the movable type printing press, a feat generally ascribed to Gutenberg about a decade after Coster's death. Either way, he is somewhat of a local "hero", and next to a statue on the Grote Markt his name can be found in many places in the city… To read the legend of Koster, click HERE !

Wonderful shot, love the patina on the statue. The B&W really shows its age.
