Description

The Knights of St. John, or Knights Hospitallers, had captured Rhodes in the early 14th century. After the fall of Konstantinople in 1453, the Ottomans attacked Rhodes at May 1480 with an army of 70,000 men. The defenders had 7.000 soldiers (600 of them were knights) and 1.500 mercenaries. After a siege of three months, 9.000 dead and 15.000 wounded, at August 18, 1480 Ottomans gave up their attempt to capture Rhodes.

Very dynamic pose and render. There is no confusing this image for one of an empty suit of armour!
