Description

Trying to do photorealism in Blender using Yafaray render engine. I did this based on an excellent tutorial. The only problem I'm really concerned about is the light "bleed" at the edges of the room. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looks Great! I think the light bleed is caused by the walls and ceiling I think you may have gaps there and the light is shining throu!

Yeah, unfortunately that's not the case. The wall joints actually "overlap". I might have to go back and reread the tutorial again.

Wow. The bleed is weird. I can't say I've ever had that happen, so I'm no help! I'm sure you'll figure it out. This is great! Excellent work. I'll look forward to further installments of this WIP!

How did you model the walls and the ceiling? Using simple planes won't work. You have to give them some (more?) volume. That should stop the bleeding. Besides, I think the floor and the fridge are way too reflective. And there's something strange with the oven: what's this rectangular shape from top to bottom? Otherwise, nice for a start, yet a long way from being photorealistic. Keep it up!

You might need to make the walls and ceilings thicker, I think I've seen it do that with planes.

That was it! I changed the planes to boxes and voilĂ ! - no more bleed. Thanks everyone!

the bleed is caused by the light hitting the edge of the wall, try using a square light on the outside and focus it through the window. as long as it doesn't overlap the edge of the wall it should be ok.
