Description

PLEASE FULL VIEW (1200x1460) Well, last week after I raked my lawn of weeds lol. I did my usual of grabbing the camera and looking under a couple rocks I have around the place, in hopes of finding something interesting to shoot. When I lifted one, there was a proud mother Earwig and her cluster of eggs (top). Of course I snapped a few. Not knowing how long until they would hatch. Today I went back to see how things were progressing. Lifted the rock and BAM! Dozens of babies crawling all over mom. Anyway, thought I would share. I have taken several pics of Earwigs, but they are so common I never felt any were worth posting. But this set is a bit more rare (for me anyway). Thanks for viewing and any comments. Also thank you for all your comments on my Bee image. -Bruce

I think you're right about that one Bruce, it is a little rare. Myself I've never seen em that tiny, the transparent thing kinda creeps me out too LOL. Great reportage, and a reminder for me not to turn over any rocks!!!

I am witnessing one of those miracles that blows my mind away. There's so much truth and love revealed under a rock.

Amazing find, and the detail in the full size is amazing! Never knew an earwig had so many colors. One of the best macros I have seen.

This is so cool. How awesome to catch such a small creature so beautifully and with her eggs one day and later with her babies. Incredible!

Holy Critters! This image is phenomenally composed! As Megandoc described them "creepy crawlies" are indeed, very interesting, although this image is so well captured, that I can feel these "crawlies" on my skin...oohh. Who ever knew what really "lies beneath".. Thank you so much for exposing such a phenomenal part of nature for all of us!
