Doors keep catching my fancy...:) By the way, a tour guide told us that historically, a door painted red back-in-the-day, indicated that the owner had paid off his/her mortgage.

I love the idea of a red door, but I'm pretty attached to the dark green in Texas and the matching paint job on the trailer! LOL! Another terrific shot from Jones Street. I hope I've got something unique to share from that day, because what you've posted already is marvelous!
Just around the corner There's a rainbow in the sky So let's have another cup o' coffee And let's have another piece o' pie! ~Irving Berlin - Face The Music (1932)
In a funny mood lately.
I see now why Savannah is such a charming city. It surrendered to Sherman without a fight and so avoided being burned to the ground. This is a great shot of a fine old building.
fascinating about the red/black---I never knew that. Beautiful detail, and the iron fence stands out even though it's black against some fairly dark hues (blacks, browns, dark greens). The kind of clarity and separation we expect from you. You capture these old stately facades with real dignity. The pots on the porch are clear too. Very inviting shot, Bill.
Thanks Fred. Glad you asked about the crop cutting off the bottom of the fence in front of the red door. I went back to the original to remind myself why I cropped there. The concrete at the bottom of the post has a very unsightly repair. I did not want it in the photo. But more than that I wanted to be closer to the doors emphasizing the doors...not the iron railing. As an aside, Tara showed me using Photoshop how she would clone out the unsightly repair and that was a great review for me. Glad you asked.
