Description

Jupiter from Europa This is a shot from the surface of Europa looking back at Jupiter. The image was created totally in Bryce with the exception of the starfield created in a program called Universe. I still feel that Bryce can create some very exceptional pictures given a little time and patients. I still use this program for creating quite a few images for my clients with very favorable results. There are quite a few other programs out there that are just as capable but, in my opinion for the sheer ease of use you just can’t beat Bryce! I only hope that DAZ will not abandon this program because in the right hands it is capable of producing quite exceptional results. This I see proven time and time again with some very talented artist here at this site and across the internet. If DAZ dose not want to continue to develop Bryce then I hope that someone out there will see the great potential of this program and decides to purchase and continue to develop it. This program in just a very short time teaches anyone that tries it the ability to create quite breath taking pictures without having to have an art or computer science degree. Anyone that has ever used this program knows what I am talking about because of the delightfully intuitive layout of the interface. This alone is one of its greatest strengths! It is just a very fun program to use and you are only limited to what your imagination has to bring to the screen. For sheer ease of use I can think of no other program currently either for sale or free that gives the person at the controls the abilities to produce pictures of the quality that this program does just by understanding the basic functions. I myself will continue to use this program because I am still finding new and exciting ways of bring out all that my imagination can come up with. I say to everyone that has ever used this program which has brought so much joy to me and I believe to you as well the ability to create what was in our imagination to “Keep Bryce alive!” For I see with the right backing and finance a very bright future for this program. Be it with DAZ or whoever has the foresight to see the full potential of what this program could become. With the right backing and input this program could finally become what we all hope that it would become; one of the best all around 3D programs ever produced! Any and all comments are welcomed and I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! Best regards, David

Nice image! I started 3D in Bryce and had high hopes for it's development. But DAZ pretty much broke it. It's a wonderful "gateway" application. Here's to hoping!

Another fine "not so science-fiction" scene. I agree with you about Bryce; although, I've slipped over to using Vue 6.0 more. There are still renders that I prefer doing in Bryce simply because it will do it the best.

Very nice image! Prefect representation (I can see at least tow little moons of about the right size up to the left.) I agree wholeheartedly about what you say about Bryce. I've had Vue for a few months and will probably upgrade it to 7.0 in the near future, but it's a bit of a curve for me and I haven't produced anything but a few test images. I also have Carrera and Hexagon, but I still find myself doing my spaceships in Bryce -- despite the fact that I've been pretty unsuccessful exporting them to anything else. There's always Photoshop and PSP to mask and insert the vehicles in postwork into scenes created by other programs, but I also wish DAZ or someone will take the time to improve the product and bring it up to modern specs.

Excellent work as usual, David. If anyone has proven the versitility of Bryce, it is you. As you said, in the right hands Bryce can create wonders.

This is a super image!! I agree 100% with your comments on Bryce. Like some of the others who have coommented above I have tried my hand at Vue and Carrera but I always come back to Bryce. I have used Bryce since version 3 and though it is not perfect (what program is?) I find that with a little planning and patience I can do some pretty amazing things with Bryce that I can't do with Vue or Carrera. Heck, the deep texture editor alone is an amazing feature that just can't be beat. Your own images are proof that in the right hands Bryce can produce extraordinary results. Your models and landscapes are masterpieces and I find myself studying them often. As for the things that Bryce can't do? Well as Gierla said in his comment above, there are always programs like Photoshop, PSP, Photo-Paint and Universe to fill in the gaps. I too hope that Daz will see fit to continue to support and develop Bryce and tap the true potential of this wonderfully unique program.

Not to dishearten. I have been told by DAZ Tech support that Bryce 6.5 may be released soon. No date as of yet. By all means yes! Let's keep Bryce alive!

Fantastic work! Like you I'm a fan of Bryce. I've dabbled with it since the earliest versions, but didn't get serious about it until more recently. This is a great piece, and a wonderful showcase for the potential this program has (Of course, the rest of your gallery could be such a showcase as well, but I digress)
