Description

Well, day one of the Jersey Folklore Festival went well. Great acts but sadly instead of the 5000 people expected maybe 500 turned up - shame on Jersey for not supporting new ventures as it won't happen again. No photo's were allowed to be taken but alas I just have to push the boundaries. Got told off by two very beefy security men! This is the wonderfully talented (in my humble opinion) Mr John Cooper Clarke. JCC was born in Salford, England in 1949 and first became famous during the 1970's punk period. He is a performance poet. I couldn't appreciate his incredible humour and his art years ago but oh my word, yesterday's show was fantastic and so funny. He is on today too. This photo was taken between peoples heads, one wearing a knitted hat like a penguin and her friends had different ones, a sheep, a cow and many with other animal ones - all being sold on site for a tenner. Thank you for your continued support Susan

I recall Mr. Clarke from way back. I even have the triangular-shaped 10" orange colored single 'Gimmix' from 1979. Though I must admit a preference for the B side, 'I Married A Monster From Outer Space'. Pure genius. Sometimes it's worth getting a telling off to get a shot like this. :-)
