Nothing to worry about so long as your heart is pure. I notice you are not wearing an American flag lapel pin. So let me start this interview by asking you 'Why do you hate this country so much?'”
These next couple of posts are atypical for me, but a couple of issues have been bugging me (pardon the pun) and I decided to mount my soap box today. The recent disclosures concerning the extent of Government (NSA) surveillance of its own citizens (us) coupled with a growing intensity of American hyper-patriotism and fundamentalist religiosity, reminds me that yes, it can happen here. Our young nation is still an experiment in self governance; premised on the knowledge that government must be limited, transparent, and accountable otherwise it will eventually turn on its own citizenry. It was famously asked if such a nation as ours, so dedicated and so conceived could long endure? I worry about the answer, which is what prompted this particular image. I step down now from my soap box after relaying another famous quote: “When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”

We are on the same page. I agree with your comments completely. There are too many secrets and too much shield thumping. It can happen here, and for a long while now I've wondered why so many people have closed their eyes and shut their ears to the truth. It will happen here, it has already begun. A Fantastic image, Brilliant in concept and execution.

Great work and commentary. I believe that Osama bin Laden won his fight for he helped usher in an age of Christain Fundamentalism in America, the likes of which has never been seen before. In so doing he has set the stage of ulitmate confrontation with a rapidly and rabidly growing fundamentalist Islamic world, who now have their perfect whipping dog. That coupled with a strong aversion to scientific reasoning, with no more than 50% of American believing in evolution for example, will usher in a dark age for the nation.

Thanks. I'm glad you picked up on the satire. The image is purposely over the top. Always room for a bit of humor. I hope Egzariuf agrees tho, since I used his icon as inspiration for the Supreme Leader. LOL.

Serious problem. We can see the same problem in Europe. Young people theoretically focused around soccer clubs, practically cooking nationalistic brutal soup. From other side we can see muslims who want to convert us to islam. Sometimes I like read about Ancient Rome and tell to myself: "nothing new under the sun" :) Cool concept and realisation :)
