Description

Having dismissed the two more primitive androids, Megan draws close to Tanya, the android she had been tasked to create, and continues the presentation. "As stated, this is Tanya, she is created with our newest technology; the most life-like android that has been built to date for public interaction. She doesn't just look and to the touch feel like a real person, she also moves, speaks, and even can display emotions like a real person. She is the closest to a real individual you'll likely ever find, but unlike real people, she doesn't need to eat, drink, and can even become fully recharged to full capacity in less than two hours. More amazing is the advancement of self healing technologies. Minor abrasions and even some rare structural damage can automatically be "healed" without any physical action required to correct it. Consider it like your own body healing itself from something like a paper cut." "Do you have any questions at this time?" asked Megan. He could only sit there with this surprised look on his face and say how blown away he was, but urged her to continue on. "Well, this bodes well for the results I will present you, as our goal is to exceed your expectations," said Megan, as she continued with her presentation. "Part of the reason I was selected for constructing your android is that many of the preferences you had selected closely match those I have been created with. In the way we have been designed to process tasks and information it makes us more personally involved in the assignment. And yes, I do mean more personally involved. Whether or not you are fully aware of the depth of our processing abilities, we can make decisions on both logic as well as emotional considerations. As a result, we have the sense of accomplishment, disappointment, and can even become frustrated when a project doesn't go according to plan, or the results do not meet our expectations; or yours for that matter." "From the initial reactions you have made, I suspect that you are completely satisfied with the results you have seen so far; but prepare to be amazed by the individual within as well. As I previously stated, we determined a lot about your preferences in a companion, and I poured over this data to create someone who will also be quite the match for you intellectually as well. Now, this does not mean she will be always in complete agreement with you, she does have her own personality. What it does mean is that she can keep you engaged in conversation, make you laugh when she senses you need to, provoke you to think or look at a topic from another perspective, and even provide you with playful banter or needed reminders. Yes, there may be times when she feels she needs to nag you -- just like a real woman, it's something she's automatically programmed to do; but you will likely find her methods to be more subdued and helpful." "Soon I will leave the room for about an hour to allow you to interact with Tanya exclusively. She has been programmed to identify you, she knows the basics about your likes and dislikes, but she also needs to learn your traits and personal characteristics as this will further help refine hers. Consider it just like a real couple or friends; repeated interactions over time is what develops bonds, and while she has been created with the knowledge and skills of a seasoned adult, repetition and personal interaction is still required to perfect that bond." "Well, without further delay, I will leave you now to meet Tanya. I believe you will continue to be pleasantly surprised. I will meet back with you in an hour." Thanks for taking a moment to view and read the conclusion to last nights submission. Technology does raise some interesting questions, does it not? How far will science take it, and how life-like can "artificial" intelligence become? Time may tell.

Excellent song to tie to this image. I wish I had thought of that song while I created this.
