Description

Well, I think this might be my best work. At least it's the piece I've spent the longest amount of time on, and maybe put the most effort into. At first glance, it's a remake of my older piece "Wonderful", but it's not intended as a remake, Just liked the point of view and terrain. Terrain is WM5 by TheElement (thank you) and a very special thanks to Stijn, AKA 19-10 [19-10.deviantart.com] who helped me an incredible amount with my postworking skills, most of which I learned on this piece. Also, thank you to Tiwiwine for rendering the strata parts for me, as alas, TGmac cannot do Strata. Ok, technical jargon: 4 terragen renders. two of them taking 30-40 hours each, blended in Photoshop About 7 hours to set up the scene in TG I spent a lot of the last 3 days postworking this baby. Lots of stock, a fair amount of brushing, all new techniques learned. Original renders 6400x4800 on a 2049^2 terrain Also, any advice you could give would be great, because I am still willing to go back and tweak some things. Sacha P.S. my intention here was to create an image depicting the harshness of winter. I hope I achieved it

Really excellent! one of your best, especially for the central and backside part where the surfacing give its best. i'm just humbling on the frontside right part where i might expect to see the grass surfacing instead the snow surfacing, also because the grass part is very well done! Cool Render!

In my opinion, lower part (terrains) is really fantastic ; I am not sure with the choice of postwork sky. Anyway, surfaces, terrains and pov are great !

WOW!! Lot of time spent on this one but I think it was well worth the time and effort. Excellent all round IMO. I get the feeling of the world split in 2, heaven & hell. Well done!!

You did an excellent job!!! I have a question about what is your computer setup?? Sometime I would like to take an example of of a work like this and run it thru my system. I have an sli motherboard running 2 7600 GT's and I wondered if it would cut down the time of rendering an image like this. Just curious.......You might want to know yourself.

A scene of seasonal contrasts is what this picture conveys. I admire the detail you've put into this work. It must have been quite a learning experience.

This is incredible. Your contrasts are amazing. Truely. I see this as a tale, what can be and what is. Your surfacing is spectacular here. POV and postwork to the terrain and surfacing wonderful. The sky is wonderfully done. I might being me, blend in a few more colors to the winter sky, give it a more dramatic effect with that lightening. The day side sky is perfect.
