"THE GERM" by petes ()

Some of you have been following this in the forum. It's a freelance project for a disenfectant product. This is the germ that's about to be sprayed and killed by the product. The final will be lit differently to be placed in a photo enviornment, but i set this up for my own test before i try the composite. i like the bolder, colorful lighting.
I finally got to play with the G2 pluggin from worley. FANTASTIC pluggin! even though i was on a learning curve, i can see the benifits! it took a while to play with, but i really like the skin scattering. i even got to play with sasquatch again. The new bone tools in LW8 are also a step in the right direction and made it fairly easy to set up.
There is suppose to be a animation for this guy in the future..we'll see.
Thanks for whatever comments you guys feel compelled to leave;-)

really excellent work Pete!! :) only thing that caught my eye is HIS EYE (no pun intended) It looks as if you've got a wee-bit too much specualrity.. besides that, it really looks awesome!! ..and the skin-texture - WOW! it looks so real! -- I'd love to see this one in motion! :) peace //Benny.
watched you work hard on this guy, thanks for sharing that part. for my part, i think it rocks out loud. I wanna play with G2. The fussy little details make all the difference. So let's see. Excellent pose, excellent modeling, excellent textures, excellent lighting, excellent render. Lot of areas to excel in. Hope you share the print ad with us.
thanks for all the wonderful feedback guys. over 60 hours went into this guy all told, so it's nice to see people appreciate the details. silgrin/beyond: i will probally re-render the eye at some point. i need a break from it right now, then i will tackle your suggestions on the eye. i do see what you mean. poppi: there were soooo many characteristic options when we did the charater design...including a bigger iris, but once it became client approved, i can't change it : ( thanks again guys...and...um..girls..um....maybe?
hey lardbros, i just put a bone from the spine out through the belly. then i can sway that bone any way i want to move it out of the way. i'm hoping to set up soft body dynamics for the stomach and set the legs as collision for the animation. thanks for the comment..and good luck to ya!
