Finally got the file structure of DSON products worked out and was able to load a V6 with textures and hair. Man what an effort.
Having done all that... I went through the 1400 DSON products at DAZ and tried to find something that wasn't regurgitated from V4... bugger all to choose from and most merchants are still hedging their bets with a V4 option in their packs.
Not only is there lack of functionally with the Genesis 2 figures in Poser... I mean... trying to move hair away from the face was an effort in itself, I don't really see anything different to a V4.
I'm not knocking the G2 stuff... just sayin'... there really isn't anything new.

I've so far got nothing but joy out of G2 figures inside Poser. - Of course it takes a little bit of getting used to, but it was like that with V4 too when it came out. The product library of course is huge compared to G2 but then again, G2 hit the market I think 1-2 years ago - so it still has to catch up. If you want to see some examples of G2 figures inside Poser check out my gallery - also, if I can be of any assistance, write me a quick PM and I'd be happy to help. :) Nice render btw!
I think that the setup with Poser and the latest Daz figures, does need to be simplified, They certainly don't work as easily as the past Daz figures. Not very user friendly, more of an afterthought addon functionality. Come on Daz and Smith Micro sort it out. I want to buy Genesis stuff but a, reluctant to do so. Great render nonetheless. Well done for your persistance.
It took me forever to get the Daz Library and DSON set up correctly, but I do like her--they do need to make things Poser-ready, IMO. That said, her body shape is lovely and I like her hands and collarbones better than V4, but unless she gets more poser-friendly a lot of us will continue to use V4 just because it's easy. But look how pretty she is here!
The issues of downloading and sorting out the Gen 1 and 2 files prior to installing them to Poser is why I haven't made the quantum leap to those figures yet. I agree with everyone else, DAZ and Smith Micro need to hammer out those issues to make them more user-friendly for Poser users. I can't help but think that because of this, DAZ has lost a significant market share to Renderosity, RuntimeDNA and other 3D merchants. That's their bad, IMO. In spite of your issues with installing V6, Deane, this render is superb. I love the photorealism of this!
Well done on making the effort and it is one of the best V6 renders I have seen. The eyes do look wrong but then I do have that happen on V4 even with 'point at' set and have to adjust the side to side parameter as well as point at strength. One of the reasons I have not moved to V6 is the vast rehash of V4 outfits and very little new. I also need to see some really good renders before I invest. I am not yet at that point but without efforts similar to yours I never will be.
