Well, I wouldn't actually call it a sin! Come to think of it I don't call anything a sin, LOL! It is your cigarette I'm assuming, and it is an addiction for sure and a hard one to beat, but I did after many tries. Smoke-free now for 20 years this month, and happy for that. But I still say I enjoyed every cigarette I had and could start again in a heartbeat!
Ah...smoking. Such a subject! It's such a complicated issue, especially since there are two sides to the story, but as a smoker I can say that I instantly recognize this and what it feels like, and the entire culture built up around so simple a thing. A Native American friend of mine once stated that smoking has become a bad thing because the sacredness has been removed. In some Native American cultures (not all of them) tobacco smoking and prayer were one-in-the-same, and in looking at it that way, I wonder if some of the "filthiness" comes from the fact that many smokers don't recognize the sacred act of breathing out a prayer. This is a wonderful, moody shot. Brilliant sharpness. Very dramatic, too.
