Almos again; I would so love to be able to touch him (through the bars!) like his keepers get to do. The stripe pattern on his fur is so beautiful...

So Denise I kept seeing your amazing zoo shots and I went and spent the day at our local zoo and got some great shots myself, lots of giraffe shots and others, I load them to my computer and didn't not back up... and I think you know the rest yep my computer crashed and they are all gone big huge lesson learned at least the zoo is local and I can return. BEAUTIFUL WORK!!!!!
I started in your gallery about 4:30 my time (in the morning), and I'll finish about 6:25, so I have to stop for now. I have a mental list far larger than the pieces I've actually commented on. And it's not easy to pick and choose, believe me. But I'll end with this piece because it's another wonderful crop, this time showing an animal's face emerging out the ocean of it's glorious coat. Another wonderful crop from you. You're very sensitive to placement, and you use side-placement very effectively. Another shot where the focus seems to be to one side---in this case, the face and gaze of this beautiful cat. But the center signals the 'end' of the face, and moves into the big, deep coat itself. The face seems to come 'out' of the coat, almost as if the cat put its whole body flush-forward for you, and then stuck its face right in the middle of it. I mean, it's like the body is a big throw rug, and the face is resting in the middle. It's lush, sensual, majestic, and supremely relaxed---all qualities of the feline world. Visually, the broad sweeps of its leg and body act like "frames" for its supremely relaxed gaze. Like a big shawl wrapped around its face. With a beautiful gaze, nose and chin; and a dab of space in the upper right corner to remind us that the rest of the world still exists behind this beast. Beautiful work! I hope one day to get animal shots half this good. I'll be back before I leave again, but this session was a joy. Believe me I could comment on a lot more shots than this (I mean I didn't even get to your boat shots, water shots, etc). But for now, this will be my representative bow to your amazing and intimate eye. A constantly beautiful gallery. You've much to be proud of.
