Standing in Washington, looking at Oregon. The Columbia River is the state line.
This is a single photograph. I was standing inside an information kiosk, and loved how it framed the view.
For Mark ... with much love, and all the hugs you can handle.

What beautiful framing! I love Mt Hood, I lived in Portland when I was 23, and didn't even know it was there until I'd been there a few months and suddenly the clouds cleared. I was very shocked, not knowing that we had a volcano in plain sight! This shot is absolutely lovely, that's a wonderful area for land and waterscapes!
What a stunning revelation, when looking through the window - it was a case of, taking the instant opportunity when it presented itself , I like to call it a 'perfect hole in one' ;))) ... and a big NO, I don't play golf! - but I can imagine, that what it may have felt like, immortalizing such a great view! I have catching up to do, but the great thing about galleries is the fact that images are always there, to discover and re-discover and re-discover yet again. This is one such gem. I love the composition here, the natural frame, the silvery gleam of the river, that bridge, like a thread...so fine and so fragile, and yet it's a bridge and it can't be as fragile as it looks since it's a bridge and big things are supposed to go across it. Mount Hood is so nicely impressive, standing there, holding its place in the background and providing a nice anchor. This is so well seen...so fun to wander around, and the natural framing is so bold, but not overpowering. And to top it off, it's a perfect dedication.
