Description
A winter night is wonderful
When you are inside
Sitting by the fire
With family and friends
Reliving glory days
And silly mistakes
Talking about your first love
Your first kiss
About the time you scratched the car
And how you ran and hid
Acting like you didn’t know
What happened to it
Remembering when it felt
Like youth was in your bones
How you could run forever
And never stop
How listening to music
Was more important
Than watching TV
How the new bicycle
Was the equivalent
Of eagle wings
How every night’s sleep
Was full of dreams
These
These were wonderful things

Beautiful capture and wonderful poem. I haven't lived in very many cold climates and this image that makes me wish I had. The cold, crispness of the air comes through. I love the tree on the left, the reflections, and the points of the winter sun coming over the treeline. The poem has an element of winter in it too. In winter we think of the past, when we were young and the world seemed young with us. Excellent post, my friend!
