kjer_99 Bio

kjer stands for "Kansas Jeremy." Yahoo screwed up things and added the rest. My good grrrl's name is "Julie Jane Russell Because She Ain't No Jack" but we just call her Julie and a host of nicknames (Mz. Demeanor, Land Shark, God Damn it!, etc.) BIO Born in North Dakota, learned to talk in Texas, early elementary years in southern Michigan near Lake Huron, brief time in Miami Beach (during WWII), back to Michigan. Parents divorced and we moved back to northcentral Kansas, which became my adopted home (although folks were 4th or 5th generation Kansans). At 18, joined USAF and served a year in Korea (after the cease-fire) and two in southern Japan; however, the only foreign country I served in was pre-Civil Rights movement Gulf Coast Mississippi! :) My Air Force job was control tower operator, then later worked in headquarters administration. Returned to Kansas, got married to wife number 1 and got a college degree (or two plus) and taught public school (8th Grade English) for 4 years. Adopted two mixed-race children (girl and boy). Spent a year ill and unemployed then began working for 25 years with mentally and multiply challenged folks in State institutions. Divorced after 25 years (amicably), endured 4 years of bachelorhood, then married wife Number 2. (Both fine women, by the way.) Retired for five years then got a part-time college instructor position, teaching Freshmen how to write at the college level for another five years, then retired a second time. Still with wife No. 2.
My first identity was as an artist. Later, also became a writer. Wrote about about nine multi-volumed science-fantasy novel manuscripts. Was given very encouraging rejections by editiors, but just never seemed to be what met their publishing needs. Gave up art (pastel pencils and fine-line ink drawings, mostly) for about 10 years due to operations on wrists that messed up coordination in fingers and created involuntary releases of my grasp. (It's very discouraging to spent 40 hours on a fine-line ink drawing only to drop the pen on it in the last hour or two.) Finally decided that avenue of expression was no longer viable for me and concentrated by creative efforts into writing. Then, about four years ago, I discovered the worlds of Bryce, Poser, and Vue and have been able to go back to my first love; art.
My association with Renderosity has been wonderful. In my gallery I get to combine both my creative loves: writing and art. I appreciate very much the responses and comments of viewers and thank those special few who keep comming back to my gallery. Interests in no particular order: 3D Graphic arts, writing (poetry and novels), photography, science-fiction and fantasy, science in general, astronomy (especially Mars and extra solar planets), ecology.

Description

Whose to say which of them will do the dying. The woman has one weapon--or perhaps three; if you count her two high heels as such. (I don't!) On the other hand, the female lion has twenty-four--if you count her twenty toenails and four fangs. (I do.)

Of course, there is always such a thing as sheer luck; so who knows?

I'd like to have more sympathy for the woman, but find it difficult to have much for anybody stupid enough to go out into the desert in high-heeled boots. (Are you people who create clothing for CG figures paying attention here?)

Having shifted my rant, I'll go ahead and point out that when makeing warrior or adventurer, or sci-fi/fantasy gear, it would be nice if the modelers gave us the option of high-heels or more realistic footwear. Doesn't seem to me that it would be that difficult. It's sad how many clothing items I have purchased or downloaded for free that I have never used because the footwear just look stupid and inappropriate for the situation that I wanted to portray. Is it just me? Am I alone in having this irritation?

I'm dedicating this one to Steeleyes101, who is another long-time cyber friend and supporter of my work. Thanks my friend!

And thanks to you for stopping by and taking a look.

Jeremy

You're absolutely right, Jeremy! I do not use Vue and so I never downloaded characters, but I can very well understand your irritation. In fact, the boots with high heels in the desert are not very convincing! In any case, despite the "heels", you've done a wonderful work! :)

love the light and the idea

geirla ()  posted at 9:44PM Wed, 03 October 2012

Great scene. I wouldn't have dwelled on the boots (though you are so right), but now I can't stop...

Nuisum ()  posted at 9:27AM Thu, 04 October 2012

Shoes! Very important! (unless you're someone who doesn't wear them) I run into this problem as well. I have several great sets of footwear for my characters and like you wish they had morphing heels to allow me to use the shoe style on any ground. Excellent work

KnightWolverine ()  posted at 1:43PM Thu, 04 October 2012

Hopefully if the Tiger was to bite off her foot first the shoe in question would get stuck/lodged in it's throat and the Tiger would choke to death....Hey?....Stranger things have happened.....lol... High heels in the desert are about as useless as a screen door on a submarine...I feel your pain Jeremy about options that are not available...~sigh~...

Lyne ()  posted at 4:57PM Thu, 04 October 2012

As a Shoe Crazy woman myself (who oddly in Real Life wears NONE as much as I can get away with it) I have even in watching TV shows, thought why on earth are those women in heels on that type of ground... :)

You know Im digging this one much and consider it one of the hightest compliments to have you do a piece and dedicate to me. As for your complaints about clothing and such I think most would agree with you there my friend. Would you believe I am currently working on a scene much like this myself? Is it not amazing how like minds think. Wonderful presentation here and would very much like to work on a scene toghter with you some day. In fact I was going to ask Rendo if they would consider creating another gallery called collaboration so that to or more artist who work on a scene together can post their work and both get credit. Thanks again for this wonderful compliment Steel

fantastique création , beau travail bravo

i agree! high heels are only for parties and formal events...in another context will be not useful or comfy!!

Django ()  posted at 5:20AM Mon, 18 March 2013

Cool pose..though lion-fighting in hi-heels might be dangerous. The lion could neend a more furlike texture...but thats hard gg
