Description
She came running from the doorway of their cottage as soon as she saw him. Why was she dressed in black? Where were all her trinkets and jewels? he wondered.
"Conor! They told me you were dead!" she cried as she came closer.
"Who told you that one, ma darlin'?" he frowned - though he had a good idea. He was roiling inside, angry that his poor wife had been put through such a grief for nothing but someone's jealousy, cowardice and greed. The bastards had run when things started getting heavy. He was the only one left of those that stayed to fight, and if it weren't for an old hedge witch finding him, he probably *would* be dead. Still...they ran. They had no right...!
She explained it all as they went to the house and his suspicions were confirmed. First things first. He was damn happy to be home and see his wife again. In spite of the hardship his misreported death had brought upon her, she'd remained his - all his, and that was worth more and more important than anything...well, besides bein' alive!

Just a little short story of a home-coming in fey-lands. Maybe....
Characters are my Marina and...I'm not sure what I'm going to name him, but it might be Conor. He's just a morph at present. I hand-painted on his scrapes, stitches and scratches.
Both are wearing Mitchel Hair. This hair has no AO shaders, so it renders faster than Jo's hair that does have AO shaders. It seems very versatile, but I'm still learning how to tweak it into different shapes.
Thanks for dropping by dear friends, and for your own inspiring art and sometimes giggles as well :)

Yeah, it's easy to be "brave" when there's no danger at hand but once a real threat arrives and you are put at risk... well that's when the real test takes place. I am glad that Connor had the courage to fight, despite being abandoned! His valour prevailed and he has been reunited with his love. Special thanks due to the Hedge Witch, I think :) # So that is Marina, huh? Nice!

This is such a tender scene with this nice couple. She looks so happy to have him back safe and sound. Conor is a very handsome character. You did a great job with the stiches and scratches. A wonderful work, Rayvn! Hope, you'll have a great day, too!

Oh my God. You painted on those battle scars. Do you know how much that blows my mind? Everything looks so perfect! Love your story too. That is just so universally heartrending to imagine the love of your life being reported deceased only to later be revealed alive. I think what pulls at my heart most intensely here is that she remained devoted to him, even after she believed him to be deceased. This is so great -- again! You pull me right in. Every single time. :)
