I made a modle of the 37 Chevy coupe just because I was taken to meet the local bodyshop owner and racer in about 1954. I must have been twelve because the guys that took me were two years oldeer and just 16 with new driver's licnese and a desire to nose and deck, French light sns add spinner wheelcovers. I see this one has the hood sides off. I wondered. Even if it had a 504 inch crate motor would anyone want to look? Just to see how it fit into that narrow space where an inline six had been? Where is the steering shaft? Is it rack and pinion. How did he get the distributor to clear the firewall? Then of course the true religion. Is it air conditioned with power brakes, steering, seat and door locks? I have seeriously considered posting some photos of repro cars with their owners where they are one off/ many off. There is still the matter of a model release for teh owner and a privacy mask for the license plate. Yet that is what makes the owner beam with pride. He didn't build it or keep it safe for two generations. He bought the penultimate of a rodded, cherried out icon.
Impressive beast and immaculate paint job, but I'm trying to figure out where all that colour comes from, that's reflecting in the grill...were you wearing one of those loud Hawaiian shirts ? or something to do with the postwork process ? either way, it looks kool ! Well done & ~Cheers~
