Over The Mountains by Orinoor ()
The surrounding mountains dictate the local weather, keeping us cool in the summer, protecting us from the frigid storms in winter. They give us water and protection, food and fuel. Mountains also give us heart soaring beauty beyond measure, ever changing, moment to moment. This is one of those moments, as we slip into late summer and thoughts turn to fall.
My best wishes to everyone!

Stunning! The realism is top notch, but more than that this is just a beautiful scene. Your words compliment the image perfectly and are a wonderful sentiment. I encourage you to do a scene like this for the Vue Environment competition at Eon. I'm sure this would place. Beautiful work.
Mountains and cities are among my favorite things on this planet; but then, when I stop and think of it, I have many favorite things on this planet, so--ultimately--that's not very surprising: there are wonders in this world to satisfy appetites both subtle and gross, after all. (Did I just quote Q from Star Trek? Am I really a big enough nerd to realize that I just quoted a science fictional super-being with god-like powers?) Anyway...all quotes aside, I love this image. The thumbnail made me think immediately of a photograph, and at full view, it still carried its superb photorealism. I love the colors in this, the atmospherics and the austerity. This is a marvelous visual meditation and I like it quite immensely.
