OK, after hours of composition this image was created using 2 separate renders which took about 14 hours a piece to render at high quality. I then blended them in Photoshop and did a bit of post-work.
I VERY loosely based this on a couple of fantasy books I have nearly completed which are written by Stephen R. Donaldson entitled Mordants Need: The Mirror of Her Dreams and Mordants Need: A Man Rides Through. If you like fantasy have a look at them. I found them to be a good read.
The concept for the composition, however, I got from a Luis Royo painting.
Hope you like it. Please leave a comment either way.

WOW, Mike! You'll have to excuse me while I pick my eyes up off the floor - this image just knocked them right out of thier sockets! This is incredible!! This is a must-see at full size! OK, buddy, you've convinced me..... I've got to get a 64 bit system with W7. I think my little laptop would have squealed like a little girl, and run and hid under the bed if I tried to feed it something like this. Royo is awesome! Fantastic piece - INSTANT FAV!!!
Hon, I know how much work you put into this and how long it took...but I have to say that I feel it's your best yet...the lighting, skin textures, the girl's reflection, the shadow of the knight in the mirror, it is all perfect!! Wish I could give this more than five stars!!
Hummm.... that is great! I mean really bloody well done Mike! Not only are the reflections just absolutely superb but the knight in the center mirror is just a stroke of genius. The lighting is both warm and yet subdued giving a mystical atmosphere to the scene. Surely one of your best if not the best.
