Felicitações em 100! Muitos, muito mais, artista profundo! Congratulations on 100 images! Many, many more—you've graced these pages with wonderful art & soul! Mas sua [your] linha, Ana: Suas [your] cores, suas [brush-work]—cortaram completamente a pintura como o relâmpago. Grito [ they shout] e acariciam-nos [caress us], derramam-nos e abraçam-. Você pinta como os expressionista abstratos [Astract Expressionists], mas você igualmente pinta com alma profunda. I hope my Portuguese didn't ruin what I wanted to say! We see many things here: looking out a window, a person looking into the world, looking into shadows and finding light...And your line is ever powerful, cutting through the paper, shouting, caressing, spilling & embracing; like the Abstract Expressionists, yet with great soul...Your washes are always expressive, they seep into the page; and your violets, blues & grays are equally expressive. More soulful work from you—sua fonte nunca esvazia! Grande gratitude, muitos agradecimentos! [I hope that's correct!] Obrigada, Ana—beautiful work!
Beautiful, beautiful work!!!!!Instant favorite!!!!....I love this !!!....Total economy of style, very tastefully done....As far as an interpretation...It feels like a fractured person pulled apart by a world he/she does not understand....The bruise colors are a powerful reinforcement of this in my mind....The dark part behind the person's "head" is the void of death that is always pulling us back to where we come from....And the spear looking object is his/her pride...not fully extended but at the ready to fend off the monsters of the world.....Incredible work!!!!So open for discussion and made with love....thank you for sharing...Keep up the great work!!!!
I agree, this is a strong work...it seems timeless on so many levels. Zooming in reveals the wonderful subtleties of this work, and it's something I'd love framed in a place on the gallery wall I have yet to create. The tones are amazing and their byplay is clean, crisp, and complex. Great work, especially with the washes.
