The 4th woman in my Dangerous Women Series, figured its about time to make another one. Thanks for looking.
Sammuramat (reigned 811-792 B.C.?) was a legendary queen. One day her husband, a royal advisor named Menos, sent for her in the midst of a battle. When she arrived, she directed a flanking attack against the enemy and won the battle. The king, Ninus, was so impressed that he stole Sammuramat from her husband; Menos then committed suicide. After some time, Sammuramat asked for permission to rule the kingdom for just one day. The besotted Ninus agreed, and Sammuramat was crowned. She immediately had Ninus executed, and ruled as Queen for 42 more years. During that time, according to legend, she expanded the Empire enormously through military conquest.
