Description
Just another day
Wake up rubbing my eyes
Hungry but to lazy to fix myself something to eat
Fill the sink with hot water
Grab my razor
Look in the mirror
Who’s that looking at me
Bits of gray hair
Everywhere
Wrinkles all over my face
Wild hairs growing
On my ears
Kids all gone
Wife is to
Don’t know why I got up
I’ve got nothing to do
Bored, I walk to the coffee shop
Listen to A bunch of men
Who are bored to
Go back home
Check my mail
Won a million dollars
What the hell
Turn on the TV
Watch the news
Young men dieing
Because old men are fouls
Sit on the porch
Yell at kids
Kick back
Day dream
Remembering when somebody needed me
Retirement
The American dream

As a boomer approaching retirement age, I feel your pain. I know it's bad when I need my reading glasses in order to shave or else I'll end up looking like I used a weed wacker on my face. But first, I have to 'find' those glasses. WINK. Well written piece. I've found, in my short earthly travels, that one gets out of life what they put into life. All things even and considered, that is. My best, T.P.
