Description

My god, I just found out that one of our oldest and most wonderful members passed away on July 31st---Carol Cavalaris, aka romanceworks (romanceworks). If you want to read the beautiful memorial, its here, thanks to her friend, CWRW (Laurie). Thank you so much, Laurie. I am speechless. For those of you who didn't know her here, Carol combined physical painting with digital art, and all kinds of miraculous, exquisite transformations. She did exquisite animal art, plant art, flower art, fairy tale art, and on and on...but that barely scratches the surface. She dived so deep, her strokes moved like symphonies across the sky, she uncovered the power inside everything, I often compared her to Georgia O'Keeffe and Van Gogh for their overwhelming powers and penetrations. But she was Carol, pure Carol; and I was privileged to be her friend on this planet, and receive her immense glow, love and inspiration. I just can't believe I'm saying this in past tense. I can't believe it. She contacted me way early, when I first came here, and understood me so well, what I felt, what I was trying to do...I could never create art like her, but I often said I try to do in words and music what she put into art---emphasis on "try"---and I hoped to get a little of her glow, in my art per se. She was so very accepting, so very kind; if you knew her, you knew passion gushed out of her...and she worked so hard selling her work (and did in so many markets), with all the head-banging disappointments, the downs, the collapses of clients, etc. And she lived in the mountains of Colorado, where I swear she talked to goddesses and gods every night. Or maybe I should say: They talked to her. Lucky deities. Those of you who knew her knew she shined like a star... I am struggling for words, but let me say one more thing: We had this thing, where I'd leave comments only every few months---but lonnnnnng ones, delving into her strokes and depths and all, and she'd comment back as long, with all kinds of insight and love...it was this wonderful dialogue, and it made up for my constant slowness to comment on her. I just want everyone to know she was a sun here and everywhere else---as in that big shining orb in the sky, with all its light and warmth---and her loss is immense. Carol, what do I say? You were a beacon to me, a great light, and I will always love and revere you and the time I spent with you---long distance, but always heart to heart. May you shine for ever...peace, light and love be yours forever; god, you will be missed, mark (I'm on hiatus---but I've seen everything, and I'll return for comments to you wonderful people soon...peace and love to all, m) ------------------

Beautiful tribute for Carol, Mark. Certainly terrible news of her passing...I always admired her most beautiful, sensitive artwork...a real loss for the community.

This is so beautiful and moving, Mark. Soooooo many are leaving us of late. I didn't know Carol beyond a few comment exchanges, but she always seemed like a wonderful soul, and a talented artist. May she rest in peace.

I've been on a bit of a hiatus myself for a couple weeks. I hope to be back in a few days. I've been dealing with the worst episode of depression I can ever remember. I'm an emotional wreck. I think about 99.9999% of it is from being locked up in my own house with all this F-ing covid shit. And having my head pounded daily by the assholes around here with their loud obnoxious noise they mistakenly call "music."

Well, enough about that. Hope you are weathering the storm, buddy, and I look forward to seeing more of your colorful and uplifting art and stories. I'll be back soon!

Oh, no, no, no. I am so sad to hear this news. Her art was always so beautiful and gentle. This news breaks my heart. The world will be a duller place without her art and her presence. Your heartfelt words and image are a touching, warm and loving tribute.

A very lovely tribute to an amazing artist. I am very sorry to hear of her passing as she was one of my favourite artists here at Renderosity. My muse seems to have left me these days so don't come here very often but glad I came today even though it is such sad news. I am really glad to see that you are still making amazing art and I am sure Carol would have loved this one. Great colors. :) :) :)

Lovely tribute to your friend whose name I don't recognize nor being aware of her art, Mark. May she rest in peace after her glorious contribution to the humanities.
