Description

Surely you have heard in the news that millions of refugees from Africa and Asia have fled to Europe and millions more are on the way. Also in Heidelberg several thousand of them are housed, but the municipality urgently looking for more accommodation facilities. Most come from Syria and they have gone through many exertions. I feel sorry for these people and I cannot understand those nazis' and fascists which demonstrate against them and which burn down the houses where the refugees should live. The syrian family on this photo seems to have found a bit calmness. They took a Sunday stroll along the river and feed the birds. I wish all these people that they have a calm and peaceful Christmas, even if they belong to another religion.

Lovely to see this, Klaus, and I so agree with you. My family come from immigrant Jews who fled from Warsaw in the 19th century.

Very lovely family scene, nice capture! I agree with you, I'm sad to see that the world is always violence and distrust...and there are so many unhappy people.

My heart cries for the refugees. The people in the photo do seem to have found a bit of peace. I hope it lasts for them.

there is lots of hated where ever one goes. just because Steve Harvey made an error reading the wrong name so many idiots are running their mouth, showing their true lack of intelligence. there are so many children that crossed the Mexico/Texas border, that they are being bused to temporary camps until they can be sent back home or to foster homes

of course those that have lost their family/friends to terrorist acts, have a reason to hate those that caused it. many take things in to their own hands which only makes the problem bigger

Far too much hatred and prejudice in this world. You have a kind heart, Klaus. Nice image and sentiment.

What a wonderful, peaceful picture. And I agree with you; I hope those people who have seen so much hardship can find some measure of safety and peace.

Ein gutes Foto, gut dass es hier gepostet ist. Es sollte alle davon überzeugen, dass Hass und Ausländerfeindlichkeit endlich überwunden werden muss, um eine friedlichere Welt zu erhalten.

A good photo, good that it is posted here. It should all convince you that hatred and xenophobia must be overcome at last, to get a more peaceful world. (Translated by Google)

If all the wonderful scenes found in your gallery are anything to go by, these refugees are to be envied. They've got a home in a strange but beautiful, beautiful world. :)

Being charitable to refugees is entirely commendable; the only problems are that, first, very often it is because of geopolitical interventions by countries like the US that life becomes so difficult for people living in places like Syria; second, we just don't know what sorts of interesting people there might be among those refugees (if you get what I'm hinting at); and finally, do we have enough for our own people, and if not, then what do we do with strangers in need of help?...

Why couldn't life be simpler?... :(
