Billy feels his way down a dark corridor, the rough stone of the warehouse wall digging into his hands. He curses Bronco for dismissing him so coldly, and wonders why he even bothers with his brother. “He is so mean.” He hisses into the darkness. “I want to go home.” Whimpers the boy. Summer smiles down at a small cat in the darkness, it brushes her leg as it scampers by and into the shadows just past the boy. She follows her prey with a closeness that only a Vampire could, so close that she could almost touch him. Billy felt the presence, her breath faint in his mind, he heard her smile, or was he going mad. Stopping, standing still in the shadows, he prays, not that he thinks it will do any good. It never does. There is an open elevator to his left and a staircase up a little further, an eerie light is coming from somewhere in the distance. Nothing is going to ease Billy’s mind, a sense of doom has fallen on him, growing with each step. Summer slips up and puts her hand on the boy’s shoulder, he spins, falls and stares up at the beautiful blue eyed girl. She drops to one knee and looks into the boys eyes, but the boy does not lose his fear, her magic is not clouding his mind. Summer smiles at the boy and whispers to him. “I’m not going to hurt you.” Billy hears her, but his focus in on the shadows of the elevator. She may not hurt him, but he is sure that whatever stands in the darkness will.
