...because putting a live dogs, or any other animals, in boiling water, or a hot oven, or using a blow torch on cats, is not only blatantly wrong, without further explanation---but if one is necessary it is TORTURE.
The 'reason' that is given for cooking animals alive is that they simply "taste better" after their bodies are adrenaline-soaked with fear and pain. 'Taste' is never an excuse for unspeakable cruelty, nor is 'culture' an excuse.
China is making so many strides to become a first world country, but with all due respect, with this kind of accepted culinary method, China AND Korea will be looked upon as backward nations by the rest of the civilized world (one foot in the 21st century and one foot in a primitive age).
Any animal placed in boiling water or cooked, while still alive, in any manner is obviously terrified, in unimaginable pain, despair and doomed to a slow and lingering death.
Animals in the food chain should, at the very least, be given the most humane death possible!
PS. You don't have read my rant, but please have at least a look at the video from the 26th of March, it concerns all of us!
Last upload for a while!!! I am totally in Tears!

And yet in the western world we still boil (or in the case of oysters, eat) shellfish alive, force feed geese, raise calves in crates for veal etc. etc.

Urrrggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not read all you descriptive! Made the bile in my asshole boil.I am now trying to put out the fire emanating from that orifice! LOL! But I digress. You are most correct that these practices are despicable and most savage! I can't fathom anyone with a soul capable of such cringe-worthy activities. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! Your last statement says it all.

great render and your statement is oh so very true..I wonder how much the world has yet to told. I read a story yesterday about the first dog(s) long time family pets that had this virus and showed no signs they only discovered after the animal died. this add a whole new issue..and what is worse the case(s) happened several months ago and are just now informing the rest of the world. Stay well and safe everyone we all will get through this

All true, but then it is repeated wherever poverty reigns, which is most places in the world given the power of big money and the need to keep people in a state of modern slavery... food banks in the UK, bush meat in Africa are manifestations ill managed world

Eating dogs and cats is something I can never support. Veganism would be the best and humane route to take, but if not that then a humane way to procure meat is preferred.
I would hope that the "Beyond Meat" plant-based products will gain popularity and become the better way of consumption.
As for the world at large: if there was ever a time to seek a higher power, it's now. Hopefully He will guide us towards victory against COVID-19.

There is a lot wrong with this world, Ute. Most of it caused by the human species. In many countries, dogs are fair game for the stewpot, sadly, When I was in Thailand in 1969, dogs were for food as well as pets. It sickened and saddened me then and it does now. Live lobsters are still put into boiling water even here in top-flight restaurants - which is one reason I rarely order lobster. They are basically bugs, but they still deserve humane treatment.
I can only hope our species will learn from this crisis, but our past history does not provide much encouragement. As artists, we have the power to communicate more effectively than any of the mouthpieces currently running countries.. We must continue to do so as you have here.
Stay safe, and stay healthy!

Sad but true. I don't think there's anything wrong with eating meat, but you don't have to inflict unnecessary pain and suffering.

Quand tu vois comment les hommes traitent les hommes , tu ne n'étonnes plus de la façon dont les animeaux sont traités. When you see how men treat men, you are no longer surprised by the way animals are treated.

Vegan is not healthy and is not a solution to this problem; we are omnivores like bears. Our body cannot properly absorb or metabolize many critical nutriments from vegetables (Vegans need to take supplements, like DHA omega 3, vitamin D3, B12, zinc, and so many others). However, I agree that the animal that we eat should be farmed humanely and killed without suffering. We have to realize that most Chinese live under a brutal communist regime, almost like slaves, in constant terror, and completely indoctrinated, Orwellian style. We should boycott their products, but our GLOBAL companies prefer to use slave workers in China for building their products, that we all use, while our workers are jobless. Bats are scientifically known to harbor the most variety of viruses and to have the strongest immunity system of the animal kingdom. Not good food, but they are useful for controlling insect populations. A vampire bat could have bitten a dog or any farm animal. Global issues are not that simple.
Lovely, message-bearing picture!

Your image speaks to you words, and I agree on humane ways of preparing and acquiring meat sources. All cultures are influenced by their past. I find there are good and bad actors in all nations.

I don't know what this is about, probably because I would be so upset and angry so it missed my radar, but... yeah, now I'm upset and angry. Thank you for having a caring heart, Ute.

There's no reason to refrain on your rant, there's much in this world that if not plain wrong, is insensitive, immoral, or just disgustingly cruel. Sadly, I don't see how things are going to change in our lifetime.

I agree with your comments, Ute, and China also does terrible things to animals, to get their 'fur' too. But of course other countries have horrible practices too. (In the U.S., animals are treated horribly, for food, for their skins, etc....and "pet" animals---dogs especially---are kept in horrible cages, tortured, etc. Ask any of our Rescue services.) Bad animal treatment is spread all over the world. And yes, the terrible meat-market in the East may be responsible for this virus. And that should be a warning to all countries, about their markets and how they handle living creatures, etc. Your image seems soaked in blood---the bath tub seems filled with blood---it's a powerful image of slaughter. The world has a long way to go before it becomes humane with animals. (I'm vegan, so I haven't eaten meat, fish or fowl for a long time...but if people want to eat animals, then we should have humane methods of killing them.) A powerful image to go with your words.
