Description
Taken in Long Beach on the Washington coast. Long Beach is one of those old fashioned seaside towns with arcades, tacky souvenir shops, candy stores, etc. The most interesting place we found was a store called Marsh's Free Museum, which has been there since 1935. It features a huge variety of sea shells, antiques, taxidermy specimens, & strange oddities. The thing that they are most known for is Jake the Alligator Man, who according to Wikipedia, is "an alleged half-man, half-alligator cryptid on display in apparently mummified condition...He was acquired by the Marshes for $750 in 1967 from an antique store."
I could have spent hours there taking photos of strange & exotic objects, but just wasn't in the mood to do that. The one photo I took was outside on the roof of Marsh's & I ended up working that photo into something a little different. I'll post that next...
