Description

Hi. I'm back playing with Mojo and Dmytry's very cool hex plugin. I've also found a way to get beautiful flowing undulations in displacements. Some of which can be seen here. This planet was just an accident while blending together components from some other stuff I'm working on. I spoilt the quality of this render slightly by saving in jpeg and losing the png but never mind. More soon.

OK. This is how I did the flowing displacements. Maybe it's been used often but it's new to me. I used altitude to control the displacement offset while there is also a distortion fractal. This ends in these nice movements. Curves can also play a vital role in controlling this. I'm going to explore this further.

HONEYCOMBED planet.. WOW what an excellent concept, just need some superior bee/wasp models to finish the image:)Shame about the distance loss due to the .jpg compression. Did it take long to render ?
