It is a reminder of a time slightly removed from ours, a time when money & position carried the day in a sense that it was shown and made known to lesser mortals. It was a time when one of a certain class passed away this was their resting place for them so that others could see their greatness. It was a time when those who were affluent made such statements in death that made it was felt by them to be needed. Looking at the positioning of this ostentatious work that many toiled over it sits on a rise, in a central part of the cemetery and all around it there are the markings & plots of the everyday man. Those days are gone now and we have a reminder here of what was and how it was, another hallmark in the timeline of our species.......thanks for the peek
