Description

I’m writing very very long! If you are interested, please read through to know the story and our culture. We have so many school rules at junior high and high schools in my country, some of them are outdated and may sound very strange for the other countries’ people. For example, You can’t dye your hair. You can’t get a perm on your hair. The girls should tie their hairs if they are longer than the shoulders. You can’t do makeup. You can’t wear accessories. The colors of the socks should be white, black or blue. You can’t wear colored underwear under the shits, it must be white only. Boys should wear the belts. ...and so on. Almost all the schools have their own uniforms and we should wear them properly. When I was a student, there were more strict regulations. The length of the hair of girls should not be longer than the shoulder. Boys can’t have long hair, only short hair. The length of the skirt should be 10 cm longer the knees. Even the numbers of the pleats of the skirt were decided! We had meetings on every Monday, the heads of the classes and all the teachers checked everything. They went through between the lines and checked the length of the hair, skirts and trousers, counted the numbers of pleats of the skirts. Sounds so funny and silly? I know, but we all had to keep those rules at that time. The school rules are different in each schools. When my family moved to next prefecture, my little brother forced to be saved all the hair at the new school! At first, he resisted and my parents asked if they can change that rule because it’s outdated, but the school refused and just said ‘All the boys’ hair should be shaved, that’s the school rule!’ Then my brother had to obey. That was unbelievable. Those school rules have been changing according to the changing times, but still we have some rules like I wrote above. The heads of the classrooms or the members of the disciplinary committee keep telling all the students to keep their appearances tidyin the school rules. This is a story of high school students in the classic girls comic, I’m trying to make some typical situations. I found it’s very hard to translate so many Japanese words and unique sounds in the comics into English words. There must be some wrong expression, please overlook or tell me gently. (o´▽`o) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Here is a girl who burns a mission of observing the school rules.... Nana : Hey! Hojo-kun! Do you know the school rules? Your golden hair is not allowed in the school! And your way of wearing the uniform...! Tidy up yourself!! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* We put the word ‘kun’ after males’ name when we call their names. In case of female, we put the word ‘san’. We all have black or dark brown hair when we were born, it is prohibited dyeing our hair at school and not so many matured people changed their hair color before (they were looked as ‘bad’ guys) but now many of us change our hair color after we graduate high schools. (of course there are some hasty students who dyes their hair earlier.) to be continued. Thank you for looking and reading! I always appreciate your comments. Have a wonderful day/night!

Yup, I heard of that. Lots of rules to follow in schools but like you have said, with changing times they have changed and will continue to change. All cultures evolve over time. People's world view was restricted in the olden days and hence they were stricter. But now with internet and air travel one is exposed to the rest of the world and so the changes occur. But your culture is still very unique and I respect it a lot. The rest of the world can learn a lot from your culture.

I remember our principle telling us at school that you could have a purple Mohawk as long as it was clean and tidy purple Mohawk, this was in response to my best friend shaving her head except for a one inch strip down the middle and I had dyed pink, permed hair and was nicknamed candy-floss. Those were the days! 😄 You weren't supposed to wear makeup but a lot of the girls did and skirt length could be anything from ankle length to mini skirt. I think I was quite lucky as we didn't have a lot of school rules. Love the image, she looks like a proper teachers pet, making sure everyone gets in line and follows the rules.

This is so interesting! I went to high school in the 1970's in Los Angeles so if you have seen the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High that was a documentary for my school ;)

We can learn and work on it from the experience that we have on do my research papers. If they are not able to understand what they need, then it will never be good for us for sure.
