Description

It's a big render so I recommend looking at the full size version. Many thanks to Ignus Fast for releasing his excellent Archer vehicle over on Foundation 3d. The backdrop is s Vue export by me, the buildings are exports of StoneMason's "Urban Future", the figures were done with Daz3d. All rendering in Lightwave. I started off with the idea of digging out my old Dalek scene, removing the Dalek's and adding a monster for the Archer to hunt. The ship was too big to fit, which had me stuck for a while, Then I though of lifting it above the lower buildings, and a quick test render with a dawn sky looked promising. I added the Archer and mucked about with the lighting - the main light is coming from the right of the Sun in the image to provide a stronger lighting effect. It's a dome light, my favourite type. The sky is given a hefty boost in radiosity, so it contributes more to the scene. This was OK, but the image was unbalanced, with the ship off to the upper right. There was nothing to stand on in the lower left, so I decided a flying superhero would work, and I liked the idea that the stronger colours would make them stand out from the background. I also added a pilot in the cockpit at this point. The superhero was not getting enough light, so I duplicated the dome light, and restricted it to only affect this figure, so as to have a controllable boost to lift her out of the background. The final touch was to add some subtle motion blur to the ship. All done in an evening. I got the title from the wonderful "Marshall Law" comics: Quote: I'm a hero hunter, I hunt heroes. I haven't found any yet. Not that the actual scene has anything in common with the comics, but there you go. Nick
