In my first attempt at the HDRI challenge at http://www.blochi.com/gfx/hdri/ I used Imagine to render in multiple passes and composited them all in photoshop.
But the challenge was really to try and render it in one pass using the tools of HDRI, GI/IBL, shadowmattes etc, so that it can all be composited and rendered in 1 pass. This is very simple in most current renderers. No big deal. But Imagine doesn't have any of these tools.
So, here is my render of this challenge. Rendered using the original viewpoint and the provided objects (just cos I was too lazy to do anything different :P ), in Imagine which as I mentioned before, has no support for HDRI, GI, IBL, no shadowmattes or camera/projection mapping, all rendered in a single pass.
The only post work done in photoshop was a little contrast adjustment on the keyboard as it looked too washed out.
The only thing I didn't do was blur the reflections on the crockery, as Imagine can't blur reflection/refractions,except by using the microbump trick, which means very high AA and high render times as a result. So I didn't bother.

Hard to tell how long it took. I had it rendering in the background at a low priority while rendering other things, like my badly done Gollum picture :) The glass slowed it right down tho, refractions usually do. If only Imagine had independant resolve depths for each object
