Description
Captured back on 8/3/11, brilliant Yellow Tang fish and other varieties of their species cavort about in the beautiful Tropical Reef section of the beautiful Aquarium of the Pacific, in beautiful Long Beach, California.
A ZOOM would be most rewarding.
Aloha.

I know, from your descriptions, that these aquarium shots are a major challenge; and I can see why. Despite the vivid hues, you're capturing the hues through thick water, with light playing all kinds of skewed tricks on it. If you get the light, you can lose detail; if you get the detail, you can lose light. And if you get both, the image can still seem unreal and otherworldly. But the fact is, you capture all that in your aquarium shots---and this is a fine example. The green fish, here, are like lights or bits of textured cream. The blue fish are wonderfully sensual and smooth. The rocks seem to go on forever---as if you shot this on the side of a precipice that goes up for miles. And the light is ethereal, and its shadows strange and chasm-y. This is a sensual, vivid shot of another world---you captured that "other world" spot on. I take my hat off for how often you've tackled these shots. This one feels rich, creamy and silken. Beautiful.
